THE HUMAN STANDARD
Humanitas exists to protect the irreplaceable trace of a human being in a work of art—the choices, uncertainty, skill, memory and lived experience no prompt can possess.
No generative AI art. Work generated wholly or partly by artificial intelligence will be rejected.
Human-made digital art is welcome. Digital tools can be a medium. The vision, decisions and authorship must remain the artist’s own.
Every artist stands behind their work. We may ask about process and provenance so collectors can trust the human story they are supporting.
Art that keeps us human must first be made by one.

THE STORY PASSPORT
Every published work will carry a Story Passport shaped with the artist: their voice, the place and moment of making, process, materials, edition details and relevant ethical context.
Artist audio, a digital certificate and a QR-linked record can let the story travel with the work into its next home. For participating works, the Passport will also show what the purchase helped set in motion.
Contribution amounts and terms will be disclosed before purchase. No fund contributions are being collected yet.

Anyone can create another place to upload an image and wait. Humanitas is being built to do more: understand the work, shape its story, present it beautifully and help a collector feel why it matters.
Every published artwork receives editorial attention. We turn your voice, process and context into a Story Passport that gives collectors a reason to remember—and value—the work.
We review the artist, the work, its presentation, edition details and relevant rights. That care protects the quality of the marketplace and gives every accepted artist stronger company.
Your fee helps support the tools, certificates, artist profiles and thoughtful marketplace experience needed to keep your work discoverable beyond a passing social post.
OUR PROMISE
The fee does not buy acceptance, favourable coverage or a promise of sales. You pay only after curatorial acceptance and after seeing the full terms. It supports the real work we commit to doing for every artist we welcome.

All members are eligible for editorial opportunities across Rare Storyteller, including interviews, podcasts, collection features, exhibitions and Artist Monographs. These are selected independently by the editorial team and are not guaranteed by payment or membership.
No. A portfolio or social profile is optional at this stage. When artist applications open, we’ll explain what work and information to submit.
No. Work generated wholly or partly by generative AI will be rejected. Human-made digital art is welcome when the vision, creative decisions and authorship remain the artist’s own. We may ask artists to explain their process or provide provenance information during review.
The Ripple explains what a purchase supports. For participating works, that may include a disclosed contribution to The Her Story Fund or another named initiative. The Her Story Fund is planned to support new work by women, with clear allocations and progress reporting. Percentages, selection criteria and recipients will be shared before contributions begin.
Rare Patronage is our planned way for people to support work still in the making: a visual series, a commission, a new edition or a monograph. Each opportunity will set out its scope, budget, timeline and what supporters can expect before support is collected.
Rare Storyteller is the parent home for Rare Journal, Rare Interviews, Artist Monographs and Humanitas. Humanitas is its dedicated branch for collecting art, encountering artists and supporting creative work.
